How to connect Codex MCP Bridge

Codex MCP Bridge runs locally from a Node.js package published to the npm registry: codex-mcp-bridge version 0.9.1. It speaks MCP over stdio, so the client starts it as a program and talks to it through standard input and output. It needs Node.js; clients usually start it with npx — the usual command is npx -y codex-mcp-bridge@0.9.1. It reads these environment variables: CODEX_CLI_PATH, CODEX_DEFAULT_MODEL, CODEX_FALLBACK_MODEL, CODEX_MAX_CONCURRENT and CODEX_MCP_SERVERS; set them in the client's configuration for this server.

In the mcpServers JSON format that many desktop and editor MCP clients read, the entry looks like this (placeholders in angle brackets):

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "codex-mcp-bridge": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": [
        "-y",
        "codex-mcp-bridge@0.9.1"
      ],
      "env": {
        "CODEX_CLI_PATH": "<value>",
        "CODEX_DEFAULT_MODEL": "<value>",
        "CODEX_FALLBACK_MODEL": "<value>",
        "CODEX_MAX_CONCURRENT": "<value>",
        "CODEX_MCP_SERVERS": "<value>"
      }
    }
  }
}
