How to connect Google Sheets
Google Sheets runs locally from a Node.js package published to the npm registry: @mcp-z/mcp-sheets version 2.3.1. It speaks MCP over stdio, so the client starts it as a program and talks to it through standard input and output. It needs Node.js; clients usually start it with npx — the usual command is npx -y @mcp-z/mcp-sheets@2.3.1. It reads these environment variables: GOOGLE_CLIENT_ID (required), GOOGLE_CLIENT_SECRET (secret), GOOGLE_SERVICE_ACCOUNT_KEY_FILE, AUTH_MODE, HEADLESS, REDIRECT_URI, RESOURCE_STORE_URI, PORT, BASE_URL and LOG_LEVEL; set them in the client's configuration for this server.
Google Sheets runs locally from a Node.js package published to the npm registry: @mcp-z/mcp-sheets version 2.3.1. The package starts a local server that speaks MCP over Streamable HTTP; the client then connects to it by URL (the entry names npx as the runtime). It reads these environment variables: GOOGLE_CLIENT_ID (required), GOOGLE_CLIENT_SECRET (secret), GOOGLE_SERVICE_ACCOUNT_KEY_FILE, AUTH_MODE, HEADLESS, REDIRECT_URI, DCR_MODE, DCR_VERIFY_URL, DCR_STORE_URI, RESOURCE_STORE_URI, PORT, BASE_URL and LOG_LEVEL; set them in the client's configuration for this server.
