How to connect IMAP mailbox
IMAP mailbox runs locally from a Node.js package published to the npm registry: @ni-c/imap-mcp version 0.5.1. It speaks MCP over stdio, so the client starts it as a program and talks to it through standard input and output. It needs Node.js; clients usually start it with npx — the usual command is npx -y @ni-c/imap-mcp@0.5.1. It reads these environment variables: IMAP_HOST (required), IMAP_USER (required), IMAP_PASSWORD (required, secret), IMAP_PORT, IMAP_TLS, IMAP_MAILBOX, IMAP_SEEN_KEYWORD, IMAP_READ_ONLY, IMAP_ALLOW_TOOLS, IMAP_DENY_TOOLS, IMAP_DOWNLOAD_DIR, IMAP_INSECURE_TLS, IMAP_DRAFTS_MAILBOX, IMAP_MAX_MESSAGES, IMAP_MAX_ATTACHMENT_BYTES, IMAP_MAX_DOWNLOAD_BYTES, IMAP_MAX_EXTRACT_BYTES, IMAP_ATTACHMENT_TYPES and IMAP_TRUSTED_AUTHSERV_ID; set them in the client's configuration for this server.
IMAP mailbox runs locally from a container image in an OCI registry such as Docker Hub or GitHub Container Registry: ghcr.io/ni-c/imap-mcp:0.5.1. It speaks MCP over stdio, so the client starts it as a program and talks to it through standard input and output. It needs Docker or another OCI container runtime; started with docker run — the usual command is docker run -i --rm -e IMAP_HOST -e IMAP_USER -e IMAP_PASSWORD -e IMAP_PORT -e IMAP_TLS -e IMAP_MAILBOX -e IMAP_SEEN_KEYWORD -e IMAP_READ_ONLY -e IMAP_ALLOW_TOOLS -e IMAP_DENY_TOOLS -e IMAP_DOWNLOAD_DIR -e IMAP_INSECURE_TLS -e IMAP_DRAFTS_MAILBOX -e IMAP_MAX_MESSAGES -e IMAP_MAX_ATTACHMENT_BYTES -e IMAP_MAX_DOWNLOAD_BYTES -e IMAP_MAX_EXTRACT_BYTES -e IMAP_ATTACHMENT_TYPES -e IMAP_TRUSTED_AUTHSERV_ID ghcr.io/ni-c/imap-mcp:0.5.1. It reads these environment variables: IMAP_HOST (required), IMAP_USER (required), IMAP_PASSWORD (required, secret), IMAP_PORT, IMAP_TLS, IMAP_MAILBOX, IMAP_SEEN_KEYWORD, IMAP_READ_ONLY, IMAP_ALLOW_TOOLS, IMAP_DENY_TOOLS, IMAP_DOWNLOAD_DIR, IMAP_INSECURE_TLS, IMAP_DRAFTS_MAILBOX, IMAP_MAX_MESSAGES, IMAP_MAX_ATTACHMENT_BYTES, IMAP_MAX_DOWNLOAD_BYTES, IMAP_MAX_EXTRACT_BYTES, IMAP_ATTACHMENT_TYPES and IMAP_TRUSTED_AUTHSERV_ID; set them in the client's configuration for this server.
