How to connect OPA MCP
OPA MCP runs locally from a Node.js package published to the npm registry: @orygn/opa-mcp version 0.8.0. It speaks MCP over stdio, so the client starts it as a program and talks to it through standard input and output. It needs Node.js; clients usually start it with npx — the usual command is npx -y @orygn/opa-mcp@0.8.0. It reads these environment variables: OPA_URL, OPA_TOKEN (secret), OPA_BINARY, REGAL_BINARY, CONFTEST_BINARY, OPA_MCP_ALLOWED_PATHS and GITHUB_TOKEN (secret); set them in the client's configuration for this server.
OPA MCP runs locally from a container image in an OCI registry such as Docker Hub or GitHub Container Registry: docker.io/orygn/opa-mcp:0.8.0. It speaks MCP over stdio, so the client starts it as a program and talks to it through standard input and output. It needs Docker or another OCI container runtime; started with docker run — the usual command is docker run -i --rm -e OPA_URL -e OPA_TOKEN -e GITHUB_TOKEN docker.io/orygn/opa-mcp:0.8.0. It reads these environment variables: OPA_URL, OPA_TOKEN (secret) and GITHUB_TOKEN (secret); set them in the client's configuration for this server.
