How to connect Obsidian Brain
Obsidian Brain runs locally from a Node.js package published to the npm registry: obsidian-brain version 1.7.24. It speaks MCP over stdio, so the client starts it as a program and talks to it through standard input and output. It needs Node.js; clients usually start it with npx — the usual command is npx -y obsidian-brain@1.7.24. It reads these environment variables: VAULT_PATH (required), DATA_DIR, EMBEDDING_PRESET, EMBEDDING_MODEL, EMBEDDING_PROVIDER, OLLAMA_BASE_URL, OLLAMA_EMBEDDING_DIM, OLLAMA_NUM_CTX, OBSIDIAN_BRAIN_OLLAMA_AUTO_PULL, OBSIDIAN_BRAIN_OLLAMA_BYOM_AUTO_PULL, OBSIDIAN_BRAIN_NO_WATCH, OBSIDIAN_BRAIN_NO_CATCHUP, OBSIDIAN_BRAIN_WATCH_DEBOUNCE_MS, OBSIDIAN_BRAIN_COMMUNITY_DEBOUNCE_MS, OBSIDIAN_BRAIN_TOOL_TIMEOUT_MS, OBSIDIAN_BRAIN_MAX_CHUNK_TOKENS, OBSIDIAN_BRAIN_CONFIG_DIR, OBSIDIAN_BRAIN_DEBUG and OBSIDIAN_BRAIN_LOG_FORMAT; set them in the client's configuration for this server.
